Relief for Myanmar Refugees

Mission Foundation Movement (MFM) Mizoram, our partner organization, is dedicated to providing relief and aid to Myanmar refugees residing in Mizoram. As of March 2022, approximately 30,443 Myanmar refugees have sought shelter in the region. MFM staff have visited various camps, collecting critical data to support the development of sustainable livelihoods for these refugees.

In collaboration with Chin Humanitarian Aid International (CHAI), MFM is actively addressing the challenges faced by refugees through the Refugee Project. Currently, around 2,800 families are living in refugee camps, while 4,814 families are staying with relatives across different districts of Mizoram. These refugees are struggling to access basic necessities such as food, water, shelter, and medical care.

To meet these urgent needs, MFM is planning further surveys at additional refugee camps. Plans are also underway to organize free medical clinics at camp sites in Aizawl, Mamit, Lunglei, and Kolasib Districts. These efforts underscore MFM’s commitment to easing the difficulties faced by Myanmar refugees and improving their quality of life.
