As part of its continued humanitarian efforts, Mission Foundation Movement (MFM) in Mizoram, India, in collaboration with Nations Carey’s Patch, distributed essential food items and supplies to Myanmar refugees at the Durtlang Refugee Camp. This outreach initiative reflects the shared mission of Mission Foundation Movement and Global Mission Foundation Movement, which work together in Christ for the expansion of God’s Kingdom.
The Durtlang Refugee Camp, located three kilometers from MFM’s main office, houses 48 refugees, including 14 children and two elderly individuals over the age of 60. The building they currently reside in was generously donated by Mr. Vanlalrinmawia from Saron Veng, Aizawl.
During the visit, it was noted that one individual is hospitalized, but no other serious illnesses were reported at the camp. According to Rev. Malsawmi, the Local Presbyterian Church has been instrumental in providing daily labor opportunities to able young residents. Additionally, the children are attending local schools and integrating well with their peers.
Despite these efforts, food security remains a significant concern for the camp residents, as they rely heavily on donations. Furthermore, the lack of water connection has prompted the camp to purchase two water tanks using their own funds.
The visit was marked by a short speech from MFM Director, R. Vanlalzauva, who concluded with a prayer. Rev. Malsawmi expressed gratitude to MFM and Nations Carey’s Patch for their support and provided a brief report on the camp’s situation.
